Best-Value Procurement Methods for Highways Construction Projects

"Best-Value" procurement is increasingly being recognized in the highway construction industry as a way to incorporate quality and other important factors in the procurement process, and enhance the long-term performance and economic value of the work.  The objectives of NCHRP 10-61 are to develop:

  • Best-Value procurement methods for use in awarding highway construction projects;
  • Screening criteria for selecting projects that would be appropriate for Best-Value; and
  • Strategies for overcoming barriers to implementation.

This is the research project website for NCHRP 10-61.  It is a dynamic and evolving site with information for both the research team and highway industry.  Please register and sign into the website for more information.
